Market Review
Mainly due to a strong sell-off on Friday, U.S. stocks finished the week in negative territory. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1.0 percent over the week to 25,628.90. The losses brought the Dow’s decline for August to more than 4 percent. The S&P 500 declined 1.4 percent for the week to finish at 2,847.11. The Nasdaq slipped 1.8 percent for the week to end at 7,751.77. Nearly all key S&P sectors finished in the red for the week, dragged by materials. Utilities were the only gainers.
